Carbis Bay Beach
Large sheltered sandy beach suitable for families with plenty of facilities close by.
The beach is protected both by it's aspect and the large tree covered cliffs - a rarity on the North Cornish Coast. At lower tides it is possible to walk past the headland at the eastern end of the beach to Porthkidney Sands
Facilities
Beach shop, cafe and toilets. Also has a lost child centre, first aid post
Parking
Plenty of parking available in beachfront carpark
Surfing at Carbis Bay
Occasionally good surf but takes a BIG swell to get going as it is fairly sheltered. When it does work there can be a wedgey, sometimes hollow wave at the right end of the beach. It is however affected by back-wash towards higher tides.
Works on winds from sothwest round to NNW.
